"Inventive" "Japanese Tapas" "come out fast and furious" at this Beverly Blvd izakaya that's a "favorite" with the "young Hollywood" set; service is "efficient" and prices a mere "pittance", so if "not much energy went into" the "minimally decorated" room, most are so "pleased" with "experience" that they hardly care… read more

It's interior may suggest an industrial cafeteria, but Itacho delivers satisfying home cooking, good service and exceptional value. The crowd is a pleasant group of young and old, known and unknown.

Reviews from our Customers

I've never noticed this restaurant until I was referred to by a client, raving about their japanese dishes and sushi. Under new management, a newly renovated entrance and the new addition of sushi on their menu, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional Japanese dishes and sushi. The restaurant is spacious with an open feel to it and a upstairs private area where you can hold a nice party for about 40 of your guests with enough seating and a TV as well. I love the upstairs area.

This is our regular spot for sushi. The best seats are, of course, at the bar, where the friendly sushi chef is always happy to give you the freshest pieces available. The specials that are written up on the chalk board are your best bets - some of the highlights from the menu are hot soba, and shishito peppers. They have a handful of cooked items that I've yet to try mostly because their sushi has been so delightful.

I have been very pleased with Itacho the two times I've visited. The service has been terrific. The sake is great. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. Every piece of sushi I've tried has been fresh and there are unusual items on the menu that are fun to try. After two visits, I have no complaints

Sweet Mama! I enjoy Itacho! I must have passed this little place a hundred times before my friend Julie B dragged me here. The braised eggplant is out of this world as is the lotus root. The sushi almost feels like an afterthought but the Hamachi I had was fresh and delish.I also love that they serve sake in wooden boxes that they purposely overflow. The waitress said it brings good luck. Sloppy Sake with purpose, sign me up!

Those of you who are fans of Nobu Matsuhitsa, the famed Japanese chef, will go ga-ga over Ita-Cho. Ita-Cho is a Japanese restaurant with a cooking staff comprising of Matsuhitsa proteges. The open kitchen in the back looks like an efficient madhouse with 3-4 chefs quickly and mechanically cooking it up (almost looks like a scene from Iron Chef)! The high-ceilinged restaurant is nice for ambiance, esp. if you like the LA-feel of looking good and being around other good looking people. But what's also nice about this hip place is the abundance of Japanese patrons-which to me, is always a sign of authenticity.
